Volunteer Food Pick-Up and Delivery Driver

Are you looking to get more involved in your community? Do you appreciate the satisfaction of completing a task? Then we’re looking for you! GBICS needs volunteer food pick-up and delivery folks to transport donations from local stores. In addition to food from the Vermont Foodbank, the Kitchen Cupboard relies on generous donations of produce and other healthy foods from local stores, food pick-up volunteers are vital to our food distribution program.

What To Expect as a Volunteer Food Pick-Up & Delivery Driver

Text: "Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless" Sherry Anderson

Volunteers transport food and other food pantry goods in their own personal vehicle, so a truck, SUV or van is helpful. Additionally, please expect to do some moderate lifting, loading and unloading.

Pick-ups and deliveries usually take an hour each. Interested volunteers must be available during one of the following shifts, as pick-ups are prescheduled.

  • Every other Monday at 11AM
  • Wednesdays at 9:30AM
  • Saturdays at 8AM
  • Saturdays at 9AM

If interested, please contact Wanda Bennett, Volunteer Coordinator at (802) 447-3700 x105 or volunteer@gbicsbennington.org.

About The Kitchen Cupboard

The Kitchen Cupboard provides free food to individuals and families in need. Additionally, we teach guests how to eat better on a budget. Because guests have unique household needs, they choose their own groceries including produce, frozen meats, and shelf stable goods.
