Summer Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies are an excellent way to enjoy a quick, easy, and healthy breakfast. They’re even better if you’re looking for breakfast on the go. Try one of the recipes below or get creative and make your own favorite.

For all smoothie recipes, add all ingredients to blender, blend until smooth, and drink right away.

Blueberry Smoothie

  • Plain yogurt
  • Almond milk
  • Blueberries
  • Vanilla essence
  • Honey or maple syrup (Add more sweetener if needed)

Fruit & Yogurt Smoothie

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit
  • ½ banana
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • ½ cup water, milk or 100% orange juice

Very Berry Protein Smoothie

  • 1 cup berries, fresh or frozen
  • ½ banana
  • 1 cup of almond, rice, or regular milk
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup soft silken tofu (optional)

Green Smoothie

  • 1 medium banana, previously peeled and frozen
  • ½ cup mixed frozen berries
  • 1 tablespoon flax seed meal
  • 1 heaping tablespoon peanut butter
  • ½-¾ cup milk, dairy-free milk or water
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, washed and dried

Chocolate Monkey Smoothie

  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk, rice milk, or regular milk
  • 1 frozen medium banana
  • 1 tablespoon almond/peanut
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • A little honey, maple syrup, (optional)
  • ⅓ cup plain yogurt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut (optional)

Carrot Cake Smoothie

  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • ½ cup chopped apple
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ¾ cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 pitted date
  • 2-4 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes (toasted, optional for garnish)

Green Lentil Smoothie

Servings: 4-6

  • ½ medium cucumber, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped kale, spines removed, or spinach
  • ¾ cup cooked green or red lentils
  • 1 whole apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 medium banana, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ¾ cup crushed ice
  • ½ cup vanilla yogurt (can use non-fat, if desired)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Pina Colada and White Bean Smoothie

Servings: 4-6

  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 can light coconut milk
  • ½ cup mashed ripe banana
  • 1 ½ cups crushed ice
  • ½ cup vanilla yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoons fresh lime juice (or bottled)
  • 1 cup cooked white beans, rinsed well

As you can see, you can tailor your own smoothie to the ingredients you have on hand. Experiment!
